See How Our Safety Features Work with HoloLens

Nina Larsen of Volvo Cars proudly declares Volvo to be the safest car company in the world.

We don't want to get sued over superlatives, so we'll just say it's definitely one of the safest in the world, for sure. We certainly can't think of anything safer.

Yet, many of the features that make our new cars so safe are things you will hopefully never have to use. So how do you trust that they're working?

You won't find superior driving refinement to the new Volvo S90 anywhere on the road... because it is virtual.

In fact, there are only two other chassis simulators of this grade anywhere else in the world.

By using a digital model, designers can quickly and efficiently tune and tweak the driving experience, to ensure optimum performance when they begin building practical models.

Bringing Self-Driving Cars to America

In 2017, Sweden will be accepting 100 self-driving Volvo cars on their roads in the city of Gothenburg. Volvo has accomplished this by working closely with the government of Gothenburg, to ensure the city is ready for a fleet of autonomous vehicles, and has the laws needed to regulate their use.

Before we can have self-driving cars in America, the same must happen here.

It's a chicken-or-the-egg situation: do automakers create autonomous cars first, or does government need to make laws regulating them first? The auto industry and legislation are eyeing each other warily in an awkward

Is Volvo Revolutionizing Child Safety?

In 1964, Volvo crash-tested the world's first rear-facing child safety seat prototype. What they and numerous studies since then have shown is shocking. Children in rear-facing seats have a much lower rate of injury than those facing forward.

In fact, the American Academy of Pediatrics as well as the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration both recommend that children remain in rear-facing seats until they outgrow them.

Volvo just came up with a concept for the Volvo XC90 that may give your child more time to grow.
